Information to share before quotation

• Site address, proposed capacity and intended use of generated energy
• Recent electricity bills, sanctioned load and connection details where relevant
• Roof drawings, available area and structural information for rooftop projects
• Site photographs, access conditions and known shading or obstructions
• Expected supply boundaries, preferred equipment and commercial schedule

Confirm structural and electrical suitability

For rooftop work, structural suitability should be assessed by a competent professional for the proposed system and site conditions. Electrical design should consider the available connection point, protection, isolation, cable routing, earthing and safe maintenance access.

Existing installations may require a condition review before final scope. Any modification to the consumer installation or utility interface must follow the approved design and applicable authority requirements.

Check scheme and equipment requirements

Net metering, subsidy, open access or other programme conditions can affect vendor eligibility, application documents and equipment selection. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy maintains guidance for the grid-connected rooftop programme and the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers. ALMM applicability varies by project category and current government direction, so the latest rule should be checked for each assignment.

Define completion documents

• Approved design and final as-built information
• Equipment datasheets, serial records and applicable warranties
• Installation and electrical test records
• Utility application and inspection documents within the agreed scope
• Operating guidance and maintenance responsibilities
